My first book
Daily writing prompt
What’s the first book you ever finished and still remember to this day?

Whirligig by Paul Fleischman. It’s about a teenager that goes across the United States and builds four whirligigs as a form of penance after he kills a young woman in a drunk driving accident. May have been in high school or middle school, I can’t remember that part, but this book really caught my attention at an early age. Loved it so much that I have a tattoo of my own whirligig.

That sounds like a powerful and unforgettable book. It’s amazing how a story like that can stay with you for so long and even inspire a tattoo!
