Different Hats

It’s time for a nerdy gamer girl post!

Back in like 2006 I was hanging out with some friends doing regular teenager things when all of a sudden the person who’s house we were at fires up his computer and a game begins to load.

The game loads and the character selection screen appears and I see for the first time a Tauren – a Horde Race. Instantly captivated by the giant looking buffalo dude, I began to watch this person running around and like getting the bad guys and solving quests. I sat and watched for hours and asked so many questions about this cool game.

I can’t even remember where I went to purchase the game. At that point in time, you had to buy the game and download via discs. Used to take FOREVER. Sometimes it would complete the download and it still would crash after launching the software.

But I got it to work eventually and that is the day that I became a World of Warcraft lover and fan.

My first character was and STILL is my main character – a beast master hunter.

Originally it was a Night Elf, but once they made it so humans could be hunters I made the swap (I’m Alliance, sorry Horde).

And so, I made my way through Azeroth, conquered the lands of Elywnn Forest, and made my way to I think it was level 60 back in Vanilla WoW.

I remember when I heard about the Burning Crusade expansion, I was like there’s more!?! Of course I bought it. That’s when I actually became a serious player and found my own guild where we ran raids and had such a fun time on Vent (tell me if you remember this), but now we have Discord.

There was a point where I was ranked #49 on my server (before cross-realms), /flex

When Wrath of the Lich King came out, the World of Warcraft world changed. We got the achievement system, new zones, and spent HOURS in Wintergrasp battles. God that used to be so much fun.

I’m gonna go ahead and say it – the two best expansions ever are Burning Crusade and WOTLK.

I’ve played throughout the years and all the expansions. I’ve collected so many mounts, achievements, pets, titles, etc. I’ve made some cool friends from all around the world.

It’s been quite a while since I’ve logged on and played. I miss it every day but I just can’t make time for this unfortunately.

But anyways, I used to keep this a secret, I never told anyone really cause I thought it was shameful. Now I don’t care anymore!

One of my favorite mounts that I have is the Time-Lost Proto Drake. This SOB was so hard to hunt down, it took me years of stalking this drake, but eventually I flew right into him.

I used to spend a lot of time farming stuff. It’s kind of hard nowadays to find a steady and supportive guild that runs heroics/mythics.

Someday I’ll return when the time is appropriate. Right now, as a mom with kids in school and other important life duties, I just can’t fit this into my schedule. Feel free to remember my name and add me because when I come back it’s go time.
