The Frog At Night Painting

I just finished this painting about two weeks ago and it’s one of my new favorites for now until the next creation.

This painting is of a frog who is wearing striped pajamas and holding a candle looking out of a windowsill. I have no idea where the inspiration or idea came from, but I do love amphibians!

And the cool part of this painting is that it’s a 2 for 1 which means that it has 2 canvases for one painting.

I made a clock on the small canvas and stuck some magnets on the back of each painting so that they could connect with each other. When you don’t feel like looking at the clock, take the time off and enjoy the frog instead!

I really liked the magnetic idea and the credit goes to a stranger from TikTok who gave me some advice on this.

Now I need to think about all the possibilities I can create with paintings and magnets. πŸ™‚

I just read it and I have to say I think it was beautifully written, I understand exactly how you feel! I have always loved frogs and toads since I was a child and feel the same sadness when I see one that has passed on. We have a toad that visits yearly to our house at the basement door, random visits but he’s allowed to come in and hop around. Haven’t seen him yet this year but fingers crossed. Thanks for sharing your beautiful story. 😊

Ah, thank you Meghan xxo I took a once in a lifetime photo of a frog, perched upon our iron dog doorstep outside our front door under the porch light. He had somehow managed to hitch himself up on the iron dog to be closer to the light to catch flies. And who knew frogs were so clever. Can’t describe you have to see. Will find and send. It is pricelesss and as mentioned, once in a lifetime. πŸ™‚

This is such a delightful and whimsical painting β€” I can’t stop picturing the frog in his striped pajamas! The magnetic clock idea is so clever, and I love how it turns your art into something interactive and ever-changing. Great job turning a random idea into something magical!
