Different Hats

Today I made a historic mark in my life. I sold my first painting on eBay and I’m still in shock. I just shipped it out today and I’ve been saying prayers that the package survives throughout it’s journey and that the buyer is happy.

I have wanted to do this for so long now, and I have been working harder at my paintings and how I market them. To be honest, I have no idea what I’m doing but I’m learning so that’s all you can do.

But I finally did it!

Last night I wanted to take a family photo with all my accomplishments in one shot before I shipped the painting, daddy took the picture.

Another cool thing about this painting that I made is I won an honorable mention award for art at our state fair. It was the first time that I ever entered in a competition.

I will not lie, it’s a bittersweet moment as my family and I will miss seeing this painting hanging on our walls.

But on the flip side, someone actually liked this enough to purchase it and that just makes me so giddy. I wish I could thank them personally. Along with the painting, I sent them a handwritten thank you letter and some fun gadget key-chains.

I have always wanted to make it in the art world, maybe someday I will have a chance.

I don’t care about fame but to make a living out of it or at least a part-time job would be awesome.
